C-3
the gap between those two real worlds

Mika Jang

How did COVID-19 effect us, what influence will it have towards the future? Although society expected the expansion of Internet to bring together distant things, times and places close together, I feel that the differences between them in the real world are only widening. This project is a record of my feelings toward such differences: between where I am and where I have been in the past, between the “city” and the “suburbs”.

HIDDEN CITY (Tokyo Akichi Project)

Mirai Totoki

Installation.
Masking tape on blue tarpaulin.
800 x 500 cm.

Tokyo Akichi Project began a year ago and comprises a set of works that reflect on the urban space as a mutanting landscape based on empty lots Akichi (vacant land in Japanese) and other areas under construction. In this last artwork, I have built in life-size with my own artistic tools, that hidden landscape being transformed into something anew.
